{"id":2932,"date":"2014-02-18T13:49:01","date_gmt":"2014-02-18T21:49:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.huddlestontaxcpas.com\/?p=628"},"modified":"2014-02-18T13:49:01","modified_gmt":"2014-02-18T21:49:01","slug":"john-koskinen-irs-commish","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/huddlestontaxcpas.com\/blog\/john-koskinen-irs-commish\/","title":{"rendered":"John Koskinen, IRS commish"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Now that tax season is undeniably here and all of the requisite forms are ever so diligently finding their way to the IRS&#8217;s mailboxes, here is a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=3qaLmrIgZgk&amp;list=PLvDH25MKBe1eDq4jxQ3FxuvKyVhstJ45c&amp;feature=c4-overview-vl\">video from IRS commissioner John Koskinen<\/a> outlining a few of the circumstances the average tax payer can expect this year.<\/p>\n<p>Is it just me or did you find the video oddly reminiscent of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=FEGc5EmOXxc\">this one?<\/a><\/p>\n<p>You see the problem is that the IRS is undermanned and underfunded. On top of those huge billion dollar concerns, it <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/blogs\/wonkblog\/wp\/2013\/05\/14\/everything-you-need-to-know-about-the-irs-scandal-in-one-faq\/\">had a tiff in Cincinnati in 2013<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bostonglobe.com\/news\/nation\/2014\/02\/17\/internal-revenue-service-institution-crisis-but-congress-fails-fix-many-problems\/DxEQr3H6nEQndmbpHUtl0O\/story.html\">now it looks bad and still can&#8217;t properly answer all its phones.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>With a career of turning ships around, John Koskinen was hired as the new commissioner.
